About IEEE 1394 Express Card

I have bought a new notebook without 1394 hub.  I want to connect my Digital Camrecorder (DV Cam) to my notebook and have bought a 1394 to USB cable.  However, the notebook cannot detect the DV Cam.  I tried to find any IEEE 1394 Express Card at Mongkok computer mall since my notebook has an Express Card slot.  Some of the store said they don't have stock.  Some of them said it is very expensive and they don't have it.  Some of them said they have never heard about it.  One of them introduced me a device for $700 to connect the DV Cam by AV cable to this device and it connect the notebook with USB HUB.

Can anyone could give some suggestion for me to load my DV video to my notebook for editing?
